What you see below was a complete restoration of a vintage icebox. My customer found it in a deceased family members barn and decided that they wanted to restore it back to life. It has a lot of sentimental value. I was able to save the bones of the cabinet, but the oak on the outside was rotten and a good portion of it was missing so we rebuilt the outside with new oak. We also put new metal on the inside, so this icebox could be used if needed. But it will make a great decorative piece for their home. I finished it with a nice, honey colored stain and clear coated it with a very durable Catalyzed lacquer for years of durability. I want to thank my customer's for allowing me to complete this job for them. The whole process was really fun. I also want to thank Mr Frank Lawrence for helping me on this project. His knowledge and expertise is greatly appreciated.
