Every once in a while, I come across table tops that have been painted. I don't like painted table tops. They never seem to have the durability or beauty that a traditional stained top has. This table top below was originally painted black with a clear top coat. The finish had bubbled in a few places over the years, and the homeowners were not happy with the way it looked. I took the table table top back to my shop and stripped it. After it was stripped, I prep sanded the entire top to get it ready for the stain coat. After a sealer coat I applied a very durable urethane top coat. Urethane's are the best option for a table top. They are very abrasion and chemical resistant to a lot of household chemicals. The results on the top were outstanding, and the homeowners were more than satisfied. It looked great with the distressed black apron, legs and chairs. Do you have a table that needs some TLC? Give me a call, and I would be happy to discuss your refinishing options. Thanks for reading!
