I love furniture made out of pine!
Pine has that rustic look that really complements a great painted
finish. This piece is a great example of that. This pine buffet and
hutch was custom made by someone on the east coast for my customer. The
only thing missing on it for her was a distressed painted finish. After
some time, this piece completely changed from regular to WOW! I took
off the tongue & groove back boards along with the buffet top and
both pieces were stripped and refinished in a dark brown stain with a
satin top coat. The bottom of the buffet and hutch were refinished in a
cream paint that was matched to a table and chairs she already had. I
rubbed everything down, along with a light coat of glaze for that
rustic/distressed look she was wanting. Everything was finished off
with a satin top coat for protection. I wish I could describe the
excitement she had on her face when she saw it. It was like a brand new
piece to her and she was extremely happy. That for me is one of the
best things about my job and trade, which is getting to see the
excitement people have for their refinished or restored pieces. I hope
this entry on my website gives you inspiration for furniture you have
in your home. The damaged and old pieces can look new and the regular
ones can WOW you again. Give me a call for a quote. I would love to
talk with you.
