Restoring Vintage Furniture

The Painted Door recently finished a restoration job for some early to middle 1900's vintage oak furniture. The pieces consisted of a small dresser, foot board, and small mirror holder for the dresser. The pieces had been passed down from grandfather to son and then to grandson (our customer). Somewhere in the middle of the passing down of the pieces they had been painted a dark hunter green by another refinishing business (sorry, lost the before pics). Our customer brought them to us and asked us to restore them back to the original stained color or at least as close as possible. We chose a dark walnut and a special oil based clear for the age of the wood and protection. This was a really fun project in the sense that we were able to bring these pieces back to life and make them beautiful again. If you have old furniture that you don't want to throw away, but don't know what to do with, bring it to us and let us restore it for you. You will be proud to have it in your home again.
